On the first anniversary of Marin’s passing, we asked everyone who ever had any opportunity to meet Marin to share their stories with us. Thank you, Izzie, for allowing us to share it with others.

How did you know Marin: I played lacrosse with her for seven years

Marin was a part of our carpool group for club lacrosse all throughout middle school and I remember one day we were on our way back from practice sing screaming and generally being annoying and somehow Arby’s got brought up and I mentioned how I had never been. So of course Marin was like we need to go and so we did and I remember standing in that line she kept talking about how she was going to get two entire sandwiches and eat it all in on sitting. And it’s funny because when we got up there I ordered my chicken tenders but I think I messed up my words I honestly don’t remember so Marin teased me about it but then right after goes “that’s why I love you Izzy” so casually and flippantly. And the rest of that car ride resumed to normal aka us all being crazy but with the extra energy of Arby’s added. And I don’t remember if I said I love you back, or if I just took it in stride but I hope to god she knows that I do, I love you too Marin.
