On the first anniversary of Marin’s passing, we asked everyone who ever had any opportunity to meet Marin to share their stories with us. Thank you, Scarlett, for allowing us to share it with others.

How did you know Marin: A mutual friend

Marin and I weren’t very close, but I knew her from our mutual friend, Liv. It was Halloween of 2023 and unlike the other students, I dressed up as Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas for school. When walking to the school from my car with Liv, we saw her friends Alex and Marin. Marin had also dressed up festively for Halloween. She had on a fun shirt with some spider web leggings, I think. She told me, “Look at us, we’re both bat sht crazy.” Because of that, I feel like I’ll always associate her with the color purple and will always be bat sht crazy on Halloween every year just for her.
