On the first anniversary of Marin’s passing, we asked everyone who ever had any opportunity to meet Marin to share their stories with us. Thank you, Sadie, for allowing us to share it with others.
How did you know Marin: I met her through lacrosse and other mutual friends
If I truly had to write about the impact Marin left on people’s lives, I wouldn’t have enough space. Marin was the strongest, most selfless and loving person I have ever met and I am so lucky to have known her the time that I did. Marin was the type of person who would put you before herself. If I needed something she’d instantly find a way to help. From something minor like needing a hair tie to being anxious, Marin was always there. She was the most caring and supportive friend and teammate that I could’ve asked for. If it wasn’t for her, I’m not sure how I would have made it through lacrosse season. She made every practice and game memorable. I’ve missed our boba runs, her talking about how much she loved her dogs and family, her love for lacrosse and baseball. Her laugh would spread instant joy; I wish I could hear it just one last time. I wish I could receive her hugs since she was just the best hugger. Each day forward, I try my best to be a little more like Marin; the pure kind, loving soul that she was. I hope that others can spread the joy that Marin spread to us.
