On the first anniversary of Marin’s passing, we asked everyone who ever had any opportunity to meet Marin to share their stories with us. Thank you, Greta, for allowing us to share it with others.

How did you know Marin: Friends (TeamONE lacrosse)

I met Marin while we were on the TeamONE Lacrosse team. We met at tryouts and almost instantly clicked. She was the silliest person there, not to mention talented. We made the same team and played together throughout her time with TeamONE. I was anything but popular on the team and had a hard time making friends, but Marin was someone I could rely on, willing to listen to me and share her own stories. She became a great friend to me and many other girls on the team. Because of my trouble making friends on the team, I almost quit lacrosse, but she convinced me to stay and continue playing. I played for several more years after and made more friends because Marin encouraged me not to quit. I owe Marin some of the best years of my life, even if she doesn’t know it.
