On the first anniversary of Marin’s passing, we asked everyone who ever had any opportunity to meet Marin to share their stories with us. Thank you, Ceci, for allowing us to share it with others.

How did you know Marin: Cousin

On July 8th 2021, Marin, Bridget, Grandma Betty and I went to the zoo. They were in Cincinnati visiting and my mom had to go into work that day so they invited me to go to the zoo with them. For lunch we went into one of the restaurants that served all kinds of food, we ended up getting pizza. I don’t remember where Bridget and grandma went but it was me and Marin alone at a table and we decided to text my older brother Chase. I gave Marin his number and she texted him “we have your sister” or “we kidnapped your sister “ something along those lines and his response was “👍” and then he asked who this was and she respond with “your cousin Marin” and we sat at the table laughing about how he barely even cared. We bonded over being annoying younger sisters. Although I didn’t see her much, every single memory I have with Marin I always felt her positivity and joy. She made me laugh over things that were not even funny. She always made sure I felt included even if I was just a tag along little kid. When I grow up, I hope to be even half the woman she was.
